Hootenanny!

Hootenanny! is a free outdoor play for all ages presented annually in Galt Gardens throughout July produced and directed by Professor Nicola Elson from the University of Lethbridge. The Junk Show produced by Hootenanny! was a play about two workers sorting objects at a junkyard, named Rusty and Dusty. The went through each object in the yard and saw how it could be purposed or repurposed. They imagined playful scenarios in which the objects could be depicted, combining art, fantasy, humor and wit through a lovely presentation of open space performances. Hootenanny! was produced and funded through grants provided by the City of Lethbridge and the University of Lethbridge.

I participated in the social media and documentation aspects of the theater troupe. I contributed by making posters and videos of upcoming events, collaborating with various stakeholders involved in the production, following the edits requested by the director, taking photographs of cast and crew, as well as well recording the site-specific plays as they took place.

More information about the production can be found here, on the New West Theatre website as well as their Facebook page.
